H.E. Talal Suleiman Al-Rahbi
Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning
Talal Al-Rahbi held many positions in the public and private sectors, both in Oman and in the US. In February of 2013 he was appointed by a Royal Decree as the Deputy Secretary General of The Supreme Council for Planning, in the rank of Under Secretary.
Supreme Council for Planning is the highest office Chaired by His Majesty and oversees the Strategic Planning and Economic Development Programs of the Sultanate.
His role in the Supreme Council is to oversee & formulate proposals for the development strategy & formulation of the general macro-plans documents, investment & economic policies and programmes, develop the Sultanates vision in order to broaden the production base, diversify national income sources & create a strong economic base for the future. Other responsibilities include - studying and analysing the global and regional changes & development of relations in the economic spheres & representing the Sultanate in the conferences and meetings concerning developmental, economic, and statistical issues.
Al-Rahbi holds other positions locally and internationally such as Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for SME Development. He represents the Supreme Council for Planning in many councils and other committees, and he is a member of the Board of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water, the Public Authority for Craft Industries and Chairman of Oman Technology Fund. Al-Rahbi is also a General Coordinator of The National Program for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh).
Al-Rahbi completed his education in the United States of America with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Louisiana and Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Oregon.
